About us
The spirit of the Alps and family tradition

Founded in the 1930s by brothers Arnold and Fritz Wehren in Barboleuse-Gryon
Our family business has been perfecting the art of chalet building for three generations. It is this heritage that inspires our approach.
Located in the heart of the Villars-Gryon plateau, mountain chalet construction is the foundation of our business. Established in this region for many years, we have acquired in-depth knowledge of the local characteristics. This shows in the precision and care we take with each project, operating from our technologically advanced workshop.
After taking over in 1977, Arnold’s son Robert made his mark on the company while respecting its traditions. Robert Wehren & Fils SA continues this adventure today with a passionate team, rooted firmly in the region and driven by the desire to make your dreams come true.
In 2010, Robert’s son Etienne Wehren joined the business venture and took over management in 2021.

Our philosophy
We are passionate about woodworking and our aim is to turn your aspirations into reality.
Our philosophy centres on deploying a qualified and dynamic team led by Étienne Wehren. Most of those working for us hail from our region. This melting pot of talent combines the freshness of young professionals and those who have a wealth of experience from diverse backgrounds. Many of our employees have grown within our company, explored other horizons and then chosen to return, bringing with them a variety of skills and perspectives.
Your project is enhanced by the professionalism and commitment of each individual we deploy to work on it as we strive to meet your expectations at all times.

The “Muveran” man
Robert Wehren: the legend of the Muveran Trophy
He made history in this race with eight victories and unwavering commitment to this challenging event. The article recounts a special triumph, dating from 1969. Wehren and his team defied the odds thanks to a daring technique involving the use of short studded seal skins. Aside from the competition, there is a deep connection between Wehren, racing, alpine skiing, nature and the region. This connection is symbolised by the eight sculpted eagles that adorn his chalet. These are trophies of his victories and a testament to his engagement with this sporting and human adventure.
